That is terrible. Someone should tell her to go easy on the perfume.
VastaaPoistaThe user gets used to the perfume and does not notice its strength.
PoistaDo you have a good sense of smell? I had a great sense of smell then I got pregnant and had my daughter and since then it's been like a super power! A curse I tell you though! I notice when people have too much perfume too and when out and about I get so many different smells at once! I cannot wear pefume myself, some body mists are okay.
VastaaPoistaGreat photo! :-D
Thanks! I have been hypersensitive to smells for many decades. It runs in the family. My father's oldest sister is the same. Unfortunately, my son has inherited the trait from me. Fortunately, it is not as difficult as mine. At the worst times, I have left the store when all kinds of smells reek inside the stores. I feel like I am going to vomit terribly, and I can taste the smells in my mouth. Now that I am out of working life, this has eased a bit. After last summer's fess surgery, my sense of smell has only become more acute. My husband and son are amazed, and they say I could go to work at customs to smell goods coming into the country.
PoistaIt's crazy isn't it. I don't know if it runs in my family. I guess I will find out with my daughter. I am exactly the same, I need to leave stores too when the smells get overwhelming. Haha yes like a sniffer dog does!
PoistaI get headaches with perfume scents (perfumes, soaps, shower gels and such) and cannot wear perfume at all, as I said above, so I looked into blending my own. So I make my own with essential oils and a base oil. I have made a patchouli one, lavendar one and a ginger one. These are all okay for me to wear and they are not strong and don't last long! I am so glad to know someone else suffers this too, as I haven't met anyone before you. :-D
Uy pobrecitos eso suele pasar. Te mando un beso.
VastaaPoistaThank you very much.
PoistaI’m glad to read that the electricity meter has finally been replaced — that’s such a relief when it’s sorted. And what you wrote about scents is very recognizable to me. I don’t react to all smells, but I really think there are unhealthy ingredients in some perfumes that sensitive people just can’t tolerate. My son sometimes comes home with a little perfume from the (Turkish) barber, and it lingers for so long that it actually makes me nauseous. I don’t always say anything — I usually just open a window once the boys have left. Still, I find it striking that you experience this too; you don’t hear that very often.
VastaaPoistaYour photo is truly beautiful, by the way — but minus 12 sounds very cold!
A person who doesn't react to scents themselves can't understand how someone can get sick from smells. I experienced it at work, I was a total failure when I became unwell from smells, the smells of laundry detergents and men's aftershaves, etc. A coworker told me, when I told her about scents, that he uses scents when he can. I saw him years later, he had asthma! How could he continue to use perfumes?
